A tour of our family roots included visiting the Rising Star Church in rural Clarksdale. The church was erected with the assistance of Frank a.k.a. Bennie and Alberta Stone. The church still stands, with the comer stone bearing Alberta Stone, Church Clerk.

An earlier family church, St. Mark M.B. Church near Lula, MS, now extant.  The cornerstone is dated 1916, bears the names of family members Wesley Stone, Sterling Stone and J.W. Porter, Pastor.

The home church was  St. Luke Baptist Church, 607 Alabama Street,  approx. 5 miles west of Stone Street and Russell Cemetery.  This church was erected in 1963 with the cornerstone bearing the name of Sterling Stone.  Remains a viable entity to this day.
